On behalf of a subsidiary of a major energy company we identified and analyzed options to repair or replace a generating unit demineralizer/condensate polisher regeneration system.
Included in this effort we:
- Identified a potential location to install a new system and several options.
- Reviewed previously performed system repair assessments and relevant plant documentation were also reviewed.
- Interviewed plant personnel to gather additional information and collect data.
Several repair options were proposed including estimated cost, duration to implement, outage and safety risks, and the most cost-effective solution was selected.
In addition, we made several recommendations that the company is in the process of implementing to mitigate loss of revenues and minimize potential loss of power to their customers.
